Reading Update

So, after about 8 months of on-and-off focusing on reading more long-form items, how am I doing? Objectively, I'd give myself a C-. Barely passing, and here's why.

I can absolutely say that I'm doing much better at reading long-form items. Currently I'm working through Stephen Hawking's Illustrated A Brief History of Time and The Universe in a Nutshell. Fantastic read, really engaging, and it's great to be able to relax with a book before bed.

That being said, I haven't been doing as well at actually finishing long-form books. I have at least 3-4 books going on my Kindle right now with almost no motivation to finish them. I can't quite say why, though I wish I knew. I think part of it is dealing with some pretty serious depression lately and that, of course, seems to drown any motivation to do much of anything.

So, plan going forward? Make time (at least 30 minutes a day) to read something on the Kindle. Mornings may actually be the best time for this as I normally screw around on my phone for at least that much time before leaving for work. Discipline, right?
